More Rare Books

Nice to see you again, Gutenberg Bible.

I wanted to pass along this site that I came across a while back while reading Communication Arts | Design Annual 47. Page 231 of that issue has site recommendations from random people (they are random to me anyway).
Here is the following:

www.octavo.com

"Octavo, a digital publisher of rare books, allows you to explore the beauty of old texts and manuscripts - up close."
This is for those who may want to purchase their very own digital copy of the rare books.

But, for those of us who don't have the funding, this is the link you will eventually want to get to, the Rare Book Room:
http://www.rarebookroom.org/
Here you can browse some of Octavo's collection (FOR FREE!) and get an idea of how technology is slowly replacing reality in digital form.

So, if you can't make it to the library, love technology, and don't care for touching the vellum pages, then this is for you.

Enjoy!

P.S. if you search by category in the rare book room, there is a graphic arts section.
